After a brief tinker with Linux again, I am back using macOS – and I couldn't be happier.

There is something about Linux that I cannot leave alone, and I think about leaving the Apple world in favour of it. But I always even up back with a Mac.

Recently I had one of those wobbles, and I partitioned the SSD on my MacBook Air, installed rEFind (an advanced EFI manager), and then set about installing Linux Mint 17.3 Cinnamon. I tried it for six weeks, using it as my main OS.

It is a great OS and one of the best Linux experiences you can ever have. It certainly beats Microsoft Windows. For me, however, macOS is where my heart is.

I am most comfortable in macOS. I have used Apple computers at home for 20 years – and even further back at work. I know them inside out, and that is a huge thing to pull away from. Using a Mac is second nature to me and something I just can't shake. I have come to realise that I don't want to.

Perhaps that little Apple tattoo on my arm is more than skin deep. Mac is in my blood. It is where I belong.

So I am now back using macOS only on my MacBook Air, and it feels so good to be back where I belong. Apple hardware with Apple operating system, just how it should be.
